Weakening pancreatic cancer

A drug to treat leukaemia, Ibrutinid, could be effective against pancreatic cancer. Researchers have shown in mice that the drug attacks the fibrous shell that protects cancer cells which then makes them accessible to chemotherapy. The treatment inhibits the growth of tumours and increases the life span of mice. Human trial should start next year.
