Stress: a hereditary factor ?

Several teams of researchers have shown that symptoms of depression in male mice under high stress can be transmitted through sperm. This transmission, called epigenetics, is carried out by DNA but also through other fragments of genetic information called non-coding RNAs. However, the effects of stress on offspring still remain to be verified in humans.
