Soon a treatment against cytomegaviruses?

Thanks to in vitro cell cultures, INSERM researchers have shown how congenital infections caused by cytomegaloviruses can alter brain development in an unborn child by targeting the PPAR gamma protein, a protein involved in many cellular mechanisms. They have opened a new avenue of research against these problematic organisms that affect some 1% of newborns in the United States alone, each year.
