A new contagious cancer

Researchers have recently identified a form of leukaemia that is transmitted by blood cells between a type of North American shellfish. Cancers originate most often from the degeneration of healthy cells that multiply and proliferate uncontrollably in an individual. However, this cancer spreads through cancerous cells that are transferred between individuals.
