Mechanisms behind Alzheimer’s disease

Several studies have recently helped better understand the mechanisms behind Alzheimer’s disease. The first explains how the accumulation of Tan proteins renders impossible the formation of memories. The second explains how the brain triggers the destruction of diseased neurons. These two developments used mouse models and help get one step closer to finding a treatment against the disease.
