Marine diversity at the service of medicine

Sponges and other marine invertebrates and their associated microorganisms are an inexhaustible source of bioactive compounds that could revolutionize the biomedical sector. The BLUEGENICS projects aims at combining marine genomics and chemistry to create new pharmaceutical compounds – that could for example help fight bacteria or cure Alzheimer’s disease.
