The evolution of the influenza virus in ferrets

The influenza A virus is responsible for seasonal flu, but it can also cause severe pandemics. The European INFLUENZA TROPISM project aims to understand the evolution of the virus in order to predict the emergence and spread of new strains. In order to do that, researchers analysed the H1N1 virus in ferrets.
