Colorectal cancer and vitamin C
According to a mouse study published in the journal Science, high doses of vitamin C could be effective against colorectal cancer. The vitamin c provided by 300 oranges per day for humans is equivalent to the doses used to prevent tumour growth in mice. At these very high concentrations, vitamin C is toxic to cancer cells.
