Cell implant to fight Alzheimer’s disease

Researchers have developed a subcutaneous implant of cells that secretes antibodies against beta-amyloid, a toxic protein linked to the development of Alzheimer’s disease. This implant, tested in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease prevented the formation of beta-amyloid plaques in the brain, throughout the animals’ lifespan, about 39 weeks. These cell implants could be interesting the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
