A 3D vaccin against cancer

Researchers have developed in mice a vaccine against cancer which uses nano-rods of silica as a carrier. These nano-rods, when injected under the skin, assemble in a 3D structure that attract cells of the immune system and greatly increase the effectiveness of the vaccination. In addition to cancer, this discovery could also be used against infectious diseases.
