A 1940s method as efficient as antibiotics

Researcher from the INSERM used a method from the 1940s to cure mice from a severe bacterial pneumonia. Inhaled by mice, bacteriophages, viruses selected to specifically destroy the bacteria responsible for the infection, were found to be as effective as antibiotics to fight the infection.
